Rapid population growth along the Metro Northwest corridor placed increasing demand on the Rouse Hill Water Recycling Plant, pushing the facility toward its treatment capacity limits. To provide temporary capacity relief while long-term upgrades were planned, Sydney Water initiated the installation of a transfer pipeline to divert excess sewage to the Riverstone Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Delivered for Confluence Water, the project formed a critical component of Sydney Water’s strategy to maintain reliable wastewater services across the rapidly expanding corridor.
