[Project Background]

Strengthening Wastewater Infrastructure for Regional Growth

Rapid population growth across the Richmond and North Richmond precincts required significant upgrades to the wastewater network to meet future demand. Sydney Water initiated the Richmond System Wastewater Upgrade to consolidate the two existing wastewater systems and transfer flows to the Richmond Water Recycling Plant.

The project involved constructing new rising main infrastructure and upgrading the pumping station to allow wastewater flows from North Richmond to be transferred to the upgraded treatment facility.
