[Project Background]

Utility Infrastructure for Affordable Housing Development

As part of a NSW Government initiative to deliver affordable housing across several sites, BaptistCare engaged Lendlease Building to design and construct residential developments including the Five Dock site within the Canada Bay Council area.

To service the new apartment buildings, upgrades and connections to existing potable water, stormwater and high-voltage electrical infrastructure were required along Kings Road and Great North Road.

Construction of stormwater and potable water main infrastructure

Key Features

Relocation of three power poles with multiple service providers including Ausgrid, Telstra, Optus and Foxtel
Night works implemented to minimise disruption to traffic along major road corridors
Extensive potholing investigations to confirm underground service locations prior to excavation
Complex utility connections undertaken within a TfNSW road intersection
Coordination with Canada Bay Council, RMS, Ausgrid and Sydney Water throughout project delivery
Final reinstatement completed to authority standards
