As part of the South West Growth Centre plan by the NSW Government to release land for residential development, Sydney Water had created sewerage infrastructure in the Camden Region. Our project scope involved the construction of launch and receive pits for tunnel boring and 10 manholes up to 12m deep.

The following construction works were involved in the total project.
- Caisson Shaft Construction – 14m deep with challenging ground conditions
- Sheet piled Shaft Construction – up to 10 meters deep
- 225mm diameter sewer pipe installation
- 1500mm diameter lined manhole construction
- Tunnel boring
- Caisson shaft construction
Due to a realignment, a number of manholes and associated sewer pipes ran beneath high voltage power cables. A Caisson Shaft was built reducing the risk of overhead electrocution. Sheet piling was installed and a telescopic excavator with a clam shell bucket was used to remove spoil to a depth of 1Om. A micro tunneling machine was inserted into the shaft. Upon removal, a 1500mm diameter manhole was constructed in the shaft and lined with a HDPE protective liner.
