Last Friday Killard was invited to attend the official sod turn event for the new West Wyalong Water system pressure augmentation supply and reticulation construction. We couldn’t be happier to be one of the main contractors of such an important project. Held at Thoms Corner on Friday morning, this $12.5 million initiative is a collaboration between the Australian Federal Government, the NSW State Government, Goldenfields Water and Bland Shire Council is the largest infrastructure project to be completed within the Bland Shire for over 30 years.
This project will consist of the upgrading of the 80 years old West Wyalong water system, including the installation of a new bypass supply pipeline, a new pump station and standpipe reservoir to be constructed and the renewal of an existing reticulation pipeline.
During the peak demand conditions, areas in West Wyalong are experiencing a drop in water pressure and limiting areas available for future development. A much-required change to meet the current and future demands of the town for new housing, agriculture, and infrastructure in the township of Wyalong and West Wyalong, in addition to ensuring adequate flows and pressures available to emergency services throughout the network.
Killard Group looks forward to this project getting underway with the knowledge that it will provide strong community benefit to the residents for many generations with this major infrastructure upgrade.
