Waraba Wastewater Network
Project Background
In March 2021, the Queensland Government announced the Neighbourhood Development Plan Area No. 1 (NDP1) as the first development area within Waraba (formerly known as Caboolture West) to manage growth in the rapidly growing corridor north of Brisbane.
NDP1 is approximately 266 hectares in area and is bounded by the Caboolture River to the north and west, Caboolture River Road to the south and existing suburban residential areas to the east. It will support a new urban community with a range of housing options with walkable neighbourhoods, local parks, a shopping district, sporting fields and new schools.
This new infrastructure will contain the wastewater leaving the toilets, sinks and drains of the area’s new homes and businesses, and move it to a treatment plant for cleaning and disinfection before it is safely reused for irrigation or returned to the environment. Reliable wastewater networks are essential to maintaining public health and protecting our natural environment.
The connecting water and wastewater infrastructure unlocks the delivery of not only these homes in NDP1, but also underpins the ultimate network that will service approximately 30,000 homes in the wider Waraba area.

- A new Wastewater Pumping Station, located within the development area west of Crabapple Court.
- Approximately 4.5 kilometres of new wastewater pipeline.
- The underground pipeline extends from the pumping station west of Crabapple Court, east through existing developed areas to a location on Walkers Road.
Outcome / Key Features
Project is entirely managed by KTJV as the Head Contractor including design, commissioning, community, environmental, quality and safety.
KTJV is in the process of delivering this project and more updates will follow in this space as the project is delivered.
