Project Background

Killard was selected by Wingecarribee Shire Council as a qualified and experienced contractor to install a 200kL Emergency Storage Tank at SPS BU8 in Penola Street, Bundanoon as well as replacing the existing DN90PE sewer rising main, approximately 1km long, with a DN125PE sewer rising main pipeline.

Scope Of Works

- Installation of approximately 1km of DN125 HDPE pipe and associated valves and fittings.
- Installation of DN150 vent stack with educt fan.
- Installation of approximately 200kL of concrete storage tank as per AS 3735-2001.
- Connect to existing manhole in treatment plant and at pump station,
- Installation of manhole and concrete pits for valves.
- The Sewer Rising Main was installed via Open Cut Trenching and Horizontal Directional Drilling methodology as per AS 3725-2007 & AS 4645-2018,

Outcome / Key Features

4 X 5T – 35T Excavators, Skip Trucks, Trippers, Vaccuum Trucks, Sheep Foot Roller, Tool Truck and Small Equipment,
Installation of aluminum access cover to storage tank as per WSA 132,
Approx 1km of DN125 HDPE pipeline as per WSA 04,
Approx 800ton of stockpile was moved and managed by Killard,

Liquid Retailing Structure Tests, Soil Compaction Tests, Compressive Strength Tests and Pressure Test.
Protection of designated TPZ area during construction phase per AS 4970-2009,
Sediment & Erosion control to protect nearby creek as per AS 3798-2007,
Approx 20-40m of Hydro-excavation in and around TPZ zone.
