Project Background
Goulburn Mulwaree Council is upgrading the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to support increased irrigation demand for new parks. This initiative reduces dependence on potable water and decreases treated wastewater discharge into the Wollondilly River.
The upgrade expands the WWTP’s capacity with advanced treatment technologies, constructs additional storage facilities, and upgrades pipelines and distribution systems. State-of-the-art control systems will ensure real-time monitoring and efficient operation, aligning with the Council’s SCADA system.
Benefits include significant water conservation, reduced environmental impact, and long-term cost savings. The project will follow local and national regulations, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency. Scope Of Works
Killard’s scope of works encompasses the design and construction of two storage tanks and a pumping station alongside the required pipework, mechanical and electrical installation, and automation. The project includes:

- Locating Existing Services: Identifying and mapping existing underground services to avoid disruptions.
- Erosion and Sedimentation Control: Implementing measures to control erosion and sedimentation, including managing stockpile areas.
- Site Preparation: Clearing and grubbing, setting out, and preparing the site.
- Geotechnical Investigations: Performing soil investigations and compaction to ensure site stability.
- Earthworks: Conducting bulk and detailed earthworks, including excavation and backfilling of the reservoir pad with engineering fill.
- Concrete Reservoirs constructions: 650KL x2 Pumping Station Installation: Setting up a multistage variable speed pumping station, along with the necessary electrical and mechanical works.
- Pipework Installation: Excavating and trenching for the installation of a DN450 DCL pipe feed gravity main to the tanks, including plant pipework and associated
valves and fittings.

- Testing and Commissioning: Conducting thorough testing and commissioning of all installed systems.
- Site Restoration: Backfilling, surface grading, and restoring the site to its original condition.
