Project Background

Due to high growth and significant projected growth along the Metro Northwest growth corridor, the Rouse Hill Water Recycling Plant (WRP) is rapidly approaching treatment capacity limits. As a temporary means to increase treatment capacity, excess sewage from the Rouse Hill Water Recycling Plant is proposed to be transferred by a new pipeline in the Riverstone network for treatment at the Riverstone Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Scope Of Works

Killard was contracted by Confluence Water (Sydney Water’s delivery partner for the North region) to deliver the following Scope Of Works:

- Locating existing services.
- Installation of approximately 840m of GRP DN450 and DN375 pipes by open-cut trenching (up to 6 metres deep).
- Construct 10 cast in-situ DN1200 manholes along the gravity main including the discharge chamber.
- Connection to the existing developer manhole at chainage 0.00.
- Testing and commissioning.
- Site restoration to Sydney Water standards.

Outcome / Key Features

- Project delivered on time and budget.
- Detailed planning and effective stakeholder engagement undertaken resulting in no complaints from private owners.
- Contract managed through NEC4 – Option C process.
- Safe access and egress to all the excavations with detailed benched excavations delivered by Killard’s experienced plant operators.
